Who’s Lying About Health Care?

Americans were promised a TRANSPARENT process in health care reform:
What did Americans receive? Senate Republicans literally being locked out of the negotiations. BRIBERY for votes from the likes of Sen. Ben Nelson (D-NE) and Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA). And now a secret backroom deal to reconcile the House and Senate bills.
In other words … we got OBAMACARE!

Each year Judicial Watch publishes a list of the 10 most corrupt politicians of the year. While bi-partisan, I’m sure that Dems will be crying foul:
- Sen. Christopher Dodd (D-CT)
- Sen. John Ensign (R-NV)
- Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA)
- Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner
- Attorney General Eric Holder
- Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr. (D-IL) / Sen. Roland Burris (D-IL)
- President Barack Obama
- Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA)
- Rep. John Murtha (D-PA)
- Rep. Charles Rangel (D-NY)
I thought that the “culture of corruption” ended after the 2006 elections????

Much has been made on talk radio and in the conservative media about Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC) “being pushed under the bus” by his own leadership. This is hogwash in its worse form. Wilson certainly isn’t being pushed under the bus and he certainly isn’t a hero for speaking the truth.
Yes, Wilson spoke the truth when he yelled that President Barack Obama’s statement that illegal aliens wouldn’t be covered under ObamaCare was a “LIE”. It was then, is now. That is why Democrats have consistently refused to allow any type of status checking for their socialized medicine scheme.
Regardless, Wilson had no business shouting it out during Obama’s address. Worse than being rude, the man knows better. A native of Charleston and a graduate of Washington & Lee, Wilson was brought up to be a gentleman. He should have behaved as such. If he was a Yankee …
Unfortunately, Wilson is being rewarded for his poor behavior; having raised over $1 million in the 48 hours after his outburst. Of course, his opponent has raised $800,000 in roughly the same period.
Wilson has apologized. That should be the end of the matter. While he behaved badly, he didn’t assault anyone. However, liberals must always play the victim. Now they want to officially admonish Wilson for his outburst. This is not only equally wrong, it merely shows what hypocrites House Democrats are. Their own leadership (Pelosi and Hoyer) called those of us opposed to ObamaCare Un-American. Pelosi has even called us Nazis. But that’s OK. Sending thugs to attack ordinary citizens is OK too. Just don’t say anything bad about the messiah.
Just because Democrats act that way doesn’t mean that we should. Wilson is no hero, but the Democrats will make him one if they keep it up.

When Jim Ireton was running for mayor many folk asked how I could support a flaming liberal like Jim Ireton. The answer was simple. Jim Ireton never hid the fact that he was (to be kind) left of center. Yet, like councilwoman Terry Cohen, Ireton professed a responsible approach to city government despite his spendthrift attitudes towards state and federal fiscal policy. That said, Ireton doesn’t get a free pass for attacking average citizens in order to shill for “his friend”, Rep. Frank Kratovil (D-MD).
Appearing on Delmarva Talks with Bill Reddish this morning, Ireton ridiculed average citizens who gathered last week to share their concerns about ObamaCare with Kratovil at several town hall meetings. Ireton accused voters of “having marching orders” and shouting down Kratovil. Ireton specifically cited Kratovil’s meeting at Mardela Jr. / Sr. High School. Here’s some video:
That older gentleman really was SCARY! Wasn’t he?

First District Congressman “Blue Dog” Frank Kratovil may just wind up on next season’s Dancing With the Stars. To get re-elected, he needs to keep that left wing, special interest money flowing. To do that, he must do the bidding of the likes of Nancy Pelosi, Steny Hoyer, and Chris Van Hollen. Yet, by doing their bidding he risks that very same re-election. For these reasons, Kratovil is always engaged in some new dance designed to deceive his constituents while staying in the good graces of his DC masters. Kratovil’s newest dance is the “ObamaCare Shuffle”.
According to “Blue Dog” Frank, we need to be “deliberative”:

Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. – George Santayana
Whether it is rationing of care, cost, or who will bear that cost in the form of taxes, history has much to teach us about the proposed Democrat takeover of our health care system. This was but one important theme discussed in Thursday evening’s health care forum sponsored by Patients First, the Maryland chapter of Americans for Prosperity and its Lower Shore chapter. Speakers at the forum included Dr. Michael Gloth of the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Marc Kilmer of the Maryland Public Policy Institute, Richard Carey of Carey Distributors in Fruitland, Amy Menefee of Americans for Prosperity, Dr. John Bartkovich and Dr. Vladimir Ioffe.
While there were many items discussed at the forum, one theme that was part of Dr. Gloth’s and Mr. Kilmer’s presentations was the truly unknown cost ObamaCare. As Gloth noted, the true cost of our health care began to be hidden from the majority of Americans with the implementation of the Stabilization Act in 1942. Since then we have seen the true costs of health care obscured through private health insurance paid for by employers, Medicare and Medicaid.

The Liberal Suicide March

From UK’s Spectator -
The Budget :
Instead of allaying moderate anxieties about the deficits, the budget is expected to increase the government debt by $11 trillion between 2009 and 2019.
Health Care :
Every cliché Ann Coulter throws at the Democrats is gloriously fulfilled by the Democratic health care bills. The bills do almost nothing to control health care inflation. They are modeled on the Massachusetts health reform law that is currently coming apart at the seams precisely because it doesn’t control costs. They do little to reward efficient providers and reform inefficient ones.
Pelosi :
Nancy Pelosi has lower approval ratings than Dick Cheney and far lower approval ratings than Sarah Palin. And yet Democrats have allowed her policy values to carry the day — this in an era in which independents dominate the electoral landscape.’
It appears that David Brooks may be right:
Sphere: Related Content‘We’re only in the early stages of the liberal suicide march, but there already have been three phases. First, there was the stimulus package. You would have thought that a stimulus package would be designed to fight unemployment and stimulate the economy during a recession. But Congressional Democrats used it as a pretext to pay for $787 billion worth of pet programs with borrowed money. Only 11 percent of the money will be spent by the end of the fiscal year — a triumph of ideology over pragmatism.

Whether it’s the price at the pump, the mortgage crisis, or our troops in the field, is this your vision for America? Do we want to send Nancy Pelosi one more ally?

Do you go to church and not consider it merely a Sunday morning social function? Are you one of those folks who actually believes that human life is sacred? Do you firmly believe that the 2nd amendment doesn’t have anything to do with hunting and target shooting? Is your family one of those who has the discipline to school your children at home rather than merely pack them off to a government-run institution?
If so, you’re a threat to America. At least that’s what former Virginia Gov. Mark Warner thinks.
Whether it’s liberals like Mark Warner in Virginia, Frank Kratovil in Maryland, Nancy Pelosi or Barack Obama, it amazes me that the world has changed so much since the late ’80’s when liberals were afraid of showing their arrogance to average, hard working Americans. What amazes me even more is that people are willing to vote for people who hold our country’s values in utter contempt.

Where was the leadership during yesterday’s bailout debacle in the Congress? It surely wasn’t wasn’t coming from either the Democrat or GOP camps. Unfortunately, hypocrisy – the life’s blood of Washington – seemed to be in ample supply on both sides of the aisle. With claims that the world economy will collapse without action by the US Congress, it’s been politics as usual – except the players are getting more air time.
It’s the Democrats fault. No, all of the blame lies with Republicans. Let’s blame it all on President Bush. Your head will literally spin watching the players pass the buck.
While everyone spoke prior to yesterday’s vote, if you were a Democrat you seemed to parrot the same speech:
We need to all come together because this is the nation’s problem. It’s the world’s problem. And of course we all know that this is due to the failed economic policies of the Republicans.
Republicans used a similar tack; simply claiming that this debacle lays at the feet of Dems.
You’ll seldom here me say this, but the truth is somewhere in the middle. It is absolutely true that we can trace the root of SOME of these problems to the Clinton administration … even the administration of Jimmy Carter. It is equally true that too many Republicans approved of a system bereft of reasonable regulation and allowing institutions to merge to the point that they were too big too fail.
