Sen. Jim Webb (D-VA) seldom missed a chance to discuss his military service will running for office in 2006. Now that he is on the list of potential running mates for Sen. Barack Hussein Obama (D-IL), Webb claims that “we need to make sure that we take politics out of service.”
Stating that McCain should “calm down” about his military record, Webb told MSNBC that:
“Don’t be standing up and uttering your political views and implying that all the people in the military support them, because they don’t.”

Newt Gingrich has overtaken MoveOn.org in traffic with his “Drill Here, Drill Now” campaign. Let the lefties ride bicycles to work. Let them eat cake as well.
Even current Dem Darling Sen. Jim Webb (D-VA) is abandoning the party line on this one.

Sen. Jim Webb (D-VA) doesn’t want Virginia Power to recover its costs for increased fuel prices. Sure, if I could wave a magic wand oil would be $10 a barrel. It isn’t.
I don’t want to pay higher electricity rates any more than the next guy. I also recognize that Virginia Power has a right to recover its costs.
I guess Webb thinks that they should subsidize fuel prices like Hugo Chavez does down in Venezuela. Perhaps Webb should run for office down there.

An abandonment of principle.
If pushed, I don’t think that even Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine would shy from being called a liberal. However, former Gov. Mark Warner and Sen. Jim Webb (D-VA) love to portray themselves as moderate to conservative.
If they were true to their purported beliefs, how could they possibly consider being on the same ticket as Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL)? The answer is simple.
Neither Warner nor Webb have any principles to abandon.
