Former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney promised many of the same things to his voters regarding RomneyCare that the messiah promised to the rest of America.  Have they come true?

Health care costs continue to rise in the socialist paradise of Taxachusetts.  Emergency rooms are still overcrowded, despite promises from Romney, and now Obama, that this problem would disappear.

One problem faced in Massachusetts that the feds won’t have to face – at least in the immediate term – is the huge shifting of resources into health care from other programs.  The anointed one will simply borrow until US sovereign debt shares the same risk rating of Greece.

The problem is, it may be too late to do anything about it then.

Remember when the messiah told Americans that no one earning less than $250,000 would receive a tax increase?  Remember when we were told that the ObamaCare “individual mandate” “WAS NOT a tax”?

Well … when the Obama administration is trying to defend the constitutionality of the mandate, they are telling the courts that it is a TAX.

No federal funds for abortion.  Not a tax.  Is there anything about ObamaCare that ISN’T a lie?

Last week we informed you that the Federal government would begin funding abortions in Pennsylvania.  Maryland will become the second state to begin funding abortions through ObamaCare.

Maryland will join Pennsylvania as the second state to use federal tax dollars to pay for abortions under the new health care law signed by President Barack Obama in March, according to information released by Maryland’s State Health Insurance Plan.

Maryland will receive $85 million in federal funds for its federally mandated high-risk insurance pool, which will cover abortions. As CNSNews.com reported on July 14, Pennsylvania will receive $160 million in federal funds for its high-risk insurance pool, which will also cover abortions.

During the debate over the health-care bill, President Obama delivered a speech to a joint session of Congress, saying: “Under our plan, no federal dollars will be used to fund abortions.”

I wonder what Bart Stupak would say now?

According to a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) fact sheet published by MHIP, its new Federal Plan will offer the same benefit package as its state-funded plans. “The MHIP Federal Plan offers the same benefit package as other MHIP plan options,” that document states. All five of MHIP’s plans cover abortion, including one plan that requires no co-pay if the abortion is performed at an out-patient abortion clinic, according information found on page 53 of the 2010 MHIP Certificate of Coverage.

Conservative Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN) has called for Congress to pass legislation blocking the use of federal funds for abortion:

"This is one more example of a broken promise in ObamaCare,” said Pence. “It is morally wrong to end an unborn human life and it is reprehensible to take taxpayer dollars from millions of pro-life Americans and use them to pay for abortions.”

Pence urged Congress to enact new legislation to stop abortion funding through the health-care law.

"I call on Congress to act quickly on critical legislation by Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ) and Rep. Joe Pitts (R-PA) to stop the administration from using ObamaCare to fund abortions."

Remember what the socialist messiah told us about ObamaCare and abortion –

Well, it took a while but the truth is finally starting to come out:

The Obama administration has officially approved the first instance of taxpayer funded abortions under the new national government-run health care program. This is the kind of abortion funding the pro-life movement warned the kind of abortion funding the pro-life movement warned about when Congress considered the bill.

The Obama Administration will give Pennsylvania $160 million to set up a new “high-risk” insurance program under a provision of the federal health care legislation enacted in March.

It has quietly approved a plan submitted by an appointee of pro-abortion Governor Edward Rendell under which the new program will cover any abortion that is legal in Pennsylvania.

The high-risk pool program is one of the new programs created by the sweeping health care legislation, Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, President Obama signed into law on March 23. The law authorizes $5 billion in federal funds for the program, which will cover as many as 400,000 people when it is implemented nationwide.

We should all send a big THANK YOU to soon-to-be ex-Rep. Bart Stupak (D-MI) and his merry little band of “Pro-Life Dems”.

I never thought of it this way before, but the National Review is dead on:

The Senate can pass only one reconciliation bill per year, which is why the Democrats—who seem to intuit that they won’t be so numerous next year—want to combine the healthcare reconciliation bill with legislation that would make the government the direct provider of most student loans. The combination is poetic: American college-loan policy offers an illustration of how the government can absorb an activity incrementally, claiming to cherish the benefits the private sector provides until the bait has worked and it’s time for the switch. Government support for student loans began in the form of subsidies for private loans, much as the Democrats’ health-care bill would succor the insurance industry by subsidizing its product while forcing people to buy it. In the 1990s,  Democrats added a “public option”—making government the direct provider of some student loans—with the Clinton administration claiming that “students and schools are served by healthy competition” between the private sector and the government. This is the same rhetoric Obama used when he tried to sell us a public option for health care. And now we see how quickly Democrats dispense with the rhetoric of competition when a government takeover seems viable: The new student-loan bill would make the public option the only option, thus completing the absorption of the activity. In a similar way, the current health-care legislation isn’t the endgame.

The left’s response will always be that the government can do it cheaper and / or better.

“I don’t worry about the Constitution.”  That’s a direct quote from Rep. Phil Hare (D-IL).

It’s bad enough that this guy thinks that the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution are the same thing.  It’s bad enough that he doesn’t worry about little things like our Constitution.  Here is the oath of office Rep. Hare took in January of 2007 AND 2009:

I, NAME, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.

It seems that Phil Hare is one of those domestic enemies.  At least local lefty Mike Pretl makes a pretense of adhering to the Constitution in claiming that ObamaCare is a good thing.  Hayek was right.  Without the rule of law we are most certainly headed down the road to serfdom.

Was there ever any doubt as to their intentions?  I wonder if Dingell can spell T-Y-R-A-N-N-Y?

America’s leftists are thumping their chests and crowing that their messiah has risen from the political dead and delivered his anointed health care plan.  Fair enough, they one the vote.

One thing is for certain; the left has learned little since the 2008 elections.  Remember when we heard that the Republican Party was dead and that the conservative movement was nothing more than a few angry white men?  The we had the emergence of the Tea Party movement.  Democrats cowered in their offices and refused to hold town hall meetings in their districts back home.

Now some believe that they are back on the path to victory.  The truth is they might be … BUT ONLY IF WE ALLOW IT!

pandora over at DelawareLiberal seems to think that it’s all over.  He (she?) even has the gall to quote David Frum:

A huge part of the blame for today’s disaster attaches to conservatives and Republicans ourselves.

At the beginning of this process we made a strategic decision: unlike, say, Democrats in 2001 when President Bush proposed his first tax cut, we would make no deal with the administration. No negotiations, no compromise, nothing. We were going for all the marbles. This would be Obama’s Waterloo – just as healthcare was Clinton’s in 1994.

If Frum is correct, that the Republican leadership stood firm on ObamaCare only out of some potential political advantage then we should be dismayed beyond words.  However, Frum’s solutions seem to revolve around cutting a deal with the Democrats on items that violate the basic conservative principles upon which this country was founded.

There are certain things we should not, cannot, compromise.  We cannot “cut a deal” to hand over an additional 1/6 of our nation’s economy to government.  People like pandora, and Frum, can’t understand this; one is a socialist and the other a big government Bush disciple.  It was interesting to note that pandora didn’t quote Frum’s solutions – probably because they focus on tax cuts.  However, Frum needs to realize that cutting taxes will not work if we continue to grow the size of government.

Only time will tell if we can fix the problem the Democrats initiated with today’s signing of ObamaCare into law.  However, if tea partiers and movement conservatives don’t remain active and vigilant the war is over before the first real battle – the 2010 elections – has even been fought.

HYPOCRISY, they name is liberal.

After forcing ObamaCare onto an unwilling public, why is it that the rules which we will be forced to live under don’t apply to the White House or senior Congressional staff?
