Comments
Our comment policy is rather simple. We love them. We appreciate the fact that our readers take time to not only read what we have to say, but to express their own opinions. However, we do have a couple of rules:
- Language – NO FOUR LETTER WORDS. If you can’t come up with a better word, we suggest a thesaurus (go to Barnes & Noble or consult an online edition). If that doesn’t work, use asterisks or hash marks (* or #).
- Nothing libelous. If you want to claim that Councilman X or Delegate Y is a pedophile, we want some credible evidence (preferably video). If the person is not a public figure, forget it. We don’t participate in character assassination (despite the protestations of multiple politicians and their allies).
All commenters must log-in. This means that you must set up an account by registering here. You must provide a user name, valid email address, and password. All other information is strickly voluntary and none of your information will ever be shared.
After registering, you will receive an email to verify your email address. After that, you’re good to go!
Our comment system is semi-moderated. This means that your first comment is moderated. After that, you don’t have to wait for moderation. However, we do use blacklists. So, if you try to use certain words (see rules above) your comment will automatically go to moderation or spam (depending on content).
We use a nested comment system. This allows you to reply directly to a comment. If you just want to reply to the post, go to the bottom and enter your comment. However, if you want to reply to someone else’s comment, you should click the “Reply” link at the bottom of THAT PARTICULAR COMMENT and then write your comment in the box below.
