Joe Wilson, Hero?

Much has been made on talk radio and in the conservative media about Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC) “being pushed under the bus” by his own leadership. This is hogwash in its worse form. Wilson certainly isn’t being pushed under the bus and he certainly isn’t a hero for speaking the truth.
Yes, Wilson spoke the truth when he yelled that President Barack Obama’s statement that illegal aliens wouldn’t be covered under ObamaCare was a “LIE”. It was then, is now. That is why Democrats have consistently refused to allow any type of status checking for their socialized medicine scheme.
Regardless, Wilson had no business shouting it out during Obama’s address. Worse than being rude, the man knows better. A native of Charleston and a graduate of Washington & Lee, Wilson was brought up to be a gentleman. He should have behaved as such. If he was a Yankee …
Unfortunately, Wilson is being rewarded for his poor behavior; having raised over $1 million in the 48 hours after his outburst. Of course, his opponent has raised $800,000 in roughly the same period.
Wilson has apologized. That should be the end of the matter. While he behaved badly, he didn’t assault anyone. However, liberals must always play the victim. Now they want to officially admonish Wilson for his outburst. This is not only equally wrong, it merely shows what hypocrites House Democrats are. Their own leadership (Pelosi and Hoyer) called those of us opposed to ObamaCare Un-American. Pelosi has even called us Nazis. But that’s OK. Sending thugs to attack ordinary citizens is OK too. Just don’t say anything bad about the messiah.
Just because Democrats act that way doesn’t mean that we should. Wilson is no hero, but the Democrats will make him one if they keep it up.
