McDonnell Family Member Arrested

No.  Not really.  However, if you read the lefty Virginia blogs you might guess that it will be next.

NLS is claiming that a “McDonnell aide” was busted for drugs.  While the drive-by’s aren’t quite that bad, you are left with the distinct impression that this guy is “up there” in the AG’s office.

Kudo’s to Blue Commonwealth for really drawing the most tangential relationships in this sordid affair.  You see, Lederman’s father made campaign contributions to former Virginia Sen. Nick Rerras.  This somehow ties in to a guy named Reeves Mahoney.  Mahoney also gave some decent coin to Bob McDonnell.

Perhaps McDonnell also has a cousin who fired from the grassy knoll in Dallas.  Stay tuned.  Given that Lederman has worked in the AG’s office since 1997, trying to tag McDonnell with this one will probably work about as well as blaming Tim Kaine the next time a civil servant gets busted.

If this is all the Dems can hang their hat on in this race, it looks like the great hopes of a newly blue Virginia are being flushed.
