2009 Guide to the Maryland Blogosphere
Thanks to Michael Swartz of MonoBlogue for taking my suggestion to prepare a guide to the Maryland blogosphere. Of course, no good deed can go unpunished. Michael is already receiving negative comments on the blogs he has included (along with the expected suggestions of those that weren’t).
Thanks for a great job Michael.

It should be noted that I was kind of upset when Michael Swartz did not include my blog, Maryland Politics Today. A slap in the face considering that we both contribute to Red Maryland is what I really want to say, but whatever.
As I’ve said all along, the G2MB is an evolutionary process. If someone has a site where they can prove the readership and posting frequency meets my standard I’m happy to include it. Kenny, I seem to recall you once had an open Site Meter but later you changed that practice. And I tried to contact bloggers I knew who had the required posting frequency but no proof of readership to encourage their participation.
Honestly, the only reason I need the reader numbers is for legitimacy. I’ve found other means of estimating readership in the meantime, though, and may be able to correlate the data I do have with that data to merit inclusion of some that I missed.
Readership is always sort of a wild guess, anyway – but I’m trying to avoid sites that people may simply stumble on and pick out serious websites. Obviously I’m aware of yours and the oversight can easily be fixed because I’m editing the permanent page and not the post – that will disappear in the next few days to be replaced with a simple page link.
You have a valid complaint Kenny. I wasn’t referring to you (or anyone else suggesting sites) when I mentioned negative comments. I just noted that there were some folk bitching because this site or that site was included.
He didn’t include one of my sites either, but that’s life. Take care.
