Frank Kratovil – We Solved the Crisis

“We solved the crisis, but we don’t always do something to solve the issue.”  These are the words of Democrat Congressional candidate Frank Kratovil in regards to the financial bailout passed last week by Congress.

Does anyone really believe that the crisis is solved?  As I am writing this, the Dow Jones Industrial average is below 9800.  Kratovil’s running mate, Barack Obama is trying to convince Americans that we are entering a new Great Depression and that “The One” is the only person capable of solving our problems.  There is no question that we are in a recession that will deepen before things get better.  Yet, Frank Kratovil – the man who claims to be all things to all people – says that the CRISIS IS SOLVED!

Sure Frank.  Each time I go to fill up my gas tank I know that thanks to you and your liberal buddies the CRISIS IS SOLVED!  As I am trying to figure out how to pay for one more kid in college, I know that the CRISIS IS SOLVED!  As my wife and I struggle to pay our bills each month I know that the CRISIS IS SOLVED!

I have to admit that Frank Kratovil has pulled off a pretty good trick.  Kratovil hasn’t even been elected to Congress yet and he as managed to SOLVE THE CRISIS.  Just imagine what he would be able to do if the people of the First District were foolish enough to actually elect him.

Well, since Joe won’t let me post this, maybe you will. The quote was clearly taken out of context, as readers will know if they go to the delmarvanow site. Kratovil was referring to the immediate crisis, and he went on to say that the larger issues needed to be addressed. Come on, G.A, you are better than this!

  2. Cato says:

    Sorry Santa -

First, I link to the DelmarvaNow page with the quote.

Second, you can try to spin all you want. It won’t work.

If you want to accuse the paper of quoting him out of context, fine. Call Erick Sahler up and complain. If you want to argue that Kratovil didn’t mean it that way, fine. I happen to believe that words have meaning.

As for Albero not letting you post this, I doubt it. Perhaps you didn’t hit the “Post Comment” button. Try again and I may get around to answering you there too.

Nope, G.A, Joe won\’t let me post this exact comment. Ask him about it, and if he is honest, he will dadmit it. I\’ve submitted it several times, with no links, no curse words, but he has begun censoring anti-Harris commentary. I\’m not saying that the Daily Times took the quote out of context, I\’m saying you cut the quote off early. The end of the sentence, and the sentence that follows, indicates that Kratovil understands this is just the tip of the iceberg, and that serious changes have to be made. Anyway, if you have any pull with Joe, if you could encourage him to let respectful debate return, that would be great. He was letting me critique harris\’s debate performance before, but inthe last 2-3 days has not let in even respectful disagreement about Harris. Look at your post there and the one before it: there are NO anti-Harris comments. Does that make sense, if Joe isn\’t censoring?

  4. Cato says:

    Sorry Santa.

While I can’t disprove your statement about Albero, I would still be surprised. As for the quote, click the link to the article. I quote it verbatim and don’t cut anything off. The next graph switches to education.

    BTW -
I seldom read comments except for a post that I write. I see anti-Harris comments all the time.

  5. Santa says:

Look at your post about the Kratovil quote, and look at Joe’s just under it. you will see no anti-Harris commentary. That is becauee Joe has apparently changed his policy. And you are right, you did include the whole quote–Joe didn’t. My apologies on that one. But I guarantee you Joe is censoring anti_hharris remarks, even when they are respectful.

  6. Joseph Reid says:

Albero needs to stop being Harris’ little monkey, and start dancing around the first amendment. Maybe Joe needs someone to really call him out on his meetings with the very troubled Andy Harris. In addition to all of these schills Harris has on this blog, he now needs to worry about a potential neighborhood scandal(Calling it the Harris weapon management scandal). Now I will say up to now it’s just rumor, but if it’s true let’s just say Andy Harris will need to worry about getting relected in 2010 because this race is over.

    Joe -

I approved this comment simply because you didn’t violate out comment guidelines. However, I would suggest that the next time you make a bizarre accusation (which I have not accused you of in the past) you provide explanation and point to some evidence.

As for “Albero”, please note that he does not write for “Delmarva Dealings”. I write on his blog. He is a friend of mine.

If you want to attack Albero, I am sure there are ample venues. They just don’t have a substantial readership.

Attack me. I never take it personally, particularly in the run-up to an election. Attack the candidates I support – just try to give a little evidence for any charges. Don’t try to use my server space and my bandwidth to attack my friends just because you disagree with them.

I wouldn’t like it if someone went after you here and we only correspond.
