Barack Obama’s Stealth Socialism

As part of its editorial series - The Audacity of Socialism - IDB provides us with some of the meaning behind the words of the great Messiah. Whether it’s “ensuring economic justice”, “guaranteed health care”, “free college tuition”, or “universal national service” Obama’s plans sound soooo nice. They will also lead us, not down the road to serfdom, but straight to a Havana-style government and economy. As IBD so aptly terms it - this is Obama’s Stealth Socialism.

Obama’s plan to micro-engineer our government, our economy, and our lives would deliver us some bizarre, nightmarish hybrid of Hayek’s Road to Serfdom and Orwell’s 1984.

Unfortunately for us, Obama’s political ideology is not based on some amateur Marxism he picked up in college. No, the man who may be our next president learned at the feed of a real, live, soviet-style communist - Frank Marshall Davis:

The seeds of his far-left ideology were planted in his formative years as a teenager in Hawaii — and they were far more radical than any biography or profile in the media has portrayed.

A careful reading of Obama’s first memoir, “Dreams From My Father,” reveals that his childhood mentor up to age 18 — a man he cryptically refers to as “Frank” — was none other than the late communist Frank Marshall Davis, who fled Chicago after the FBI and Congress opened investigations into his “subversive,” “un-American activities.”

As Obama was preparing to head off to college, he sat at Davis’ feet in his Waikiki bungalow for nightly bull sessions. Davis plied his impressionable guest with liberal doses of whiskey and advice, including: Never trust the white establishment.

“They’ll train you so good,” he said, “you’ll start believing what they tell you about equal opportunity and the American way and all that sh**.”

We encourage you to read the complete piece for more details of Obama’s years as a “community organizer” (professional agitator), and his reunion with his father - Barack Hussein Obama, Sr. - a Harvard educated socialist economist.

Peel away the charisma, the rhetoric, and the adoring crowds and we are left with a giant ?. Can America afford Barack Obama?

As the son of Frank Marshall Davis, I am fighting the right-wing disinformation campaign that exaggerates my father’s radical influence over Barack Obama in Hawaii. Please read my blog at http://my.barackobama.com/page/community/blog/Kaleokualoha.
