Jim Hoeft of Bearing Drift has presented what is probably the best explanation of how Mark Warner hosed Virginians with a tax increase. Sure, we’ve all seen the video. We’ve all heard Warner explain it away.
The bottom line is that Warner not only raised taxes, he new he didn’t have to. His own Secretary of Finance told him that revenue was on the rise. That didn’t matter.
Warner wanted to spend and like a good Democrat he knows how to raise taxes. Reminds me of Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley and his “structural deficit” excuse to raise taxes in the People’s Republic.
Does anyone actually believe that a Sen. Mark Warner could say no to more fiscal shenanigans in Washington?
