Are Mikulski and Cardin Moving to the Right?

Andrew Kujan, over at Free State Politics, is none too happy that those bastions of the right - Sen. Barbara Mikulski and Sen. Ben Cardin - voted in support of the Lieberman / Kyl amendment. Since this amendment is decried by lefty blogs like MyDD it must be pretty good. Right?

Accordint to MyDD, this is somehow giving the Bush administration authority to go to war against Iran. I don’t see it, and I have a sneaking suspicion that neither Joe Lieberman nor John Kyl would be putting their name to something that would send us into another war.

As for our two Maryland Senators, does this mean that they’re moving to the right? Hardly. This vote was surely meant to shore up support with the pro-Israel lobby. Remember, Barb and Ben want big war chests just in case they have opponents next time re-election rears its ugly head.
