Is Huckabee A Hypocrite?

Phil Rodokanakis over at Bacon’s Rebellion reminds us that GOP Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee and his Virginia chairman, Virginia House Speaker Bill Howell, may have a bit too much in common. In a post appropriately titled “Tax Hikers of the World Unite”, Phil notes that Huckabee may be Howell’s equal as a tax and spender claiming the conservative mantle.

You would think that Club for Growth would complete the homework. This is completely misleading, some of the taxes they are pinning on him were voted in by residents. Why does CFG fault Huckabee for things that the tax-payers themselves agreed to? Then of course they also failed to mention that one of the increases was a result of a court order by a federal judge. Again, why fault Huckabee for something a judge made happen. These also account for quite a bit of the spending increase and of course being there for 11 years means cost are going to go up. Nothing is free so, CFG just what do you think Huckabee should have dumped to keep these taxes from happening? Should the state have been in contempt of court by ignoring a federal court ruling? Should he have ignored the citizens and not raised money for road improvements? Should he have let half of the nursing homes close down and leave the elderly homeless?
