The Logic of Liberalism
Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley is an example to us all. He is an example of how liberalism / socialism is a failed philosophy that somehow continues to garner support among politicians and the poor fools who put them in office. A current case in point is O’Malley’s desire to expand the Medicaid program in the Free State.
It works something like this:
- Maryland is running a deficit, when it is illegal to run a deficit.
- We need to raise taxes to help pay for this deficit, despite the fact that it is proven that lowering rates increases total net revenues.
- O’Malley wants to increase one of the largest state programs (Medicaid), despite the fact that the state is running a deficit.
The logic of liberalism. What used to be tax and spend is now tax, spend, and borrow the rest.
Of course the measure will pass. It’s for the children.

To those who will make the claim that the Republicans in Congress are worse - you are right. That is one reason why I stated last year that the GOP reaped what it sowed in the mid-term elections. Hypocrites deserve to be shown the door.
