It appears that Wisconsin is ready to secede to Canada and socialize medicine. Q&O Blog reports that will soon insure all of its citizens.

We can only wait and see how long it will take before this little stroll down the socialist path blows up in their faces and we hear cries for the Federal taxpayer to bail the state out. Maybe Michael Moore will do a sequel - CheesO.

Makes Sense, Wisconsin was the first state to prove welfare reform works and made the recipients go to school and/or work in order to collect their checks.

Sure enough, but that was under Tommy Thompson. And welfare reform is not the same as instituting a single payer healthcare system. There is no way that socialized medicine will work in even a medium-sized state like Wisconsin.

Please don’t argue that this won’t become socialized medicine. The state will be forced to lower reimbursement rates and doctors will flee the state over time. Then you will have a form of rationing.

Our healthcare system, while not perfect, is still the best in the world (despite Michael Moore’s and Hillary Clinton’s delusions). What separates our first rate healthcare system from the queues in Canada, the UK, etc.? A relatively free market.

People will regret socialized medicine when they discover the quality of treatment and health care providers drops dramtically–
