What Was That About Being Responsive to the Voter?

WAY BACK when Salisbury Councilwoman Louise Smith was a candidate she told us how she would be responsive to the voters. We’ve seen plenty of evidence as to how Louise keeps her campaign promises.
A current case in point was at Monday’s Council work session. After over two hours of worthless excuses as to why the Fire Department needs over $400,000 in additional funding for their “ahead of schedule and under budget” fire house, Louise decided to arbitrarily drop her rule changes from the agenda.
Voters had taken time out of their busy schedule to attend the meeting primarily because of this item. If the Princess was getting tired and wanted to go home she could have easily dropped the enterprise zone item from the agenda. There were only two people in the audience who were there for that item. Of course at least one of those folks was a buddy of the Princess’.
Why didn’t she? She may make the claim that this was more important because of an enterprise zone item on the agenda for August 13. Unfortunately, this enterprise zone designation is not controversial and I can’t imagine anyone opposing it.
The most probable reason is that Louise knew she was outnumbered and wants to wait until she can get Eleanor Mulligan to round up some automatons to provide at least a facade of support.
Are there any campaign promises that the Princess hasn’t broken yet? I can’t think of any off hand. The previous records set by Bill Clinton and Martin O’Malley are dust.
