An Unbiased View of the Crown Jewel
Personally I don’t have much of a dog in the Salisbury Zoo hunt, but I was surprised to read Pocomoke Tattler’s view. I guess that Barrie Tilghman will accuse this blogger of being Joe Albero’s evil twin Skippy.

Who’s Footing the Bill Barrie
During public comment at Monday’s Salisbury Council meeting Joe Albero asked a question. Of course he didn’t receive an answer.
Since the Mayor announced on the radio that she is suing Mr. Albero, who is paying the bill? Barrie Tilghman and Allan Webster or the Salisbury taxpayer?
Enquiring minds want to know.

What If Larsen Had Been An Ehrlich Appointee?
Maryland Public Service Commission Chairman Steven Larsen seems to be having a few problems. First, his boss, Gov. Martin O’Malley promised the voters that he wouldn’t allow BGE to get by with a huge proposed rate increase. Of course there was nothing that could be done and Larsen had to allow it.

Media Monday, On Tuesday July 24
I’ve always tried to give “Tilghman Times” reporter Katherine Crowell a break. Lord knows that she was an immense improvement over the hack who preceded her covering the Salisbury city beat. Unfortunately she has done both herself, and her profession, a great disservice this morning.
While I thought that Katherine was sitting three rows [...]
The Financial Debacle Which Is Salisbury
Before we have some fun (the usual suspects provided amusement all around) I thought we would give you the straight story on Monday night’s Salisbury City Council. Note that this is a long one guys.
There were three major issues on the agenda for the meeting. One issue involved the first reading of an ordinance [...]
More on the Illegal Immigration Front
Crabbin’ has some choice nuggets from the illegal (sorry, undocumented) immigrant front.

Well Crisis?
Wells running dry in Somerset and southern Wicomico have flooded the news lately. Pocomoke Tattler and Crisfield Girl both have current posts. Admittedly, this is not my area of expertise but I’m beginning to wonder if this is truly a crisis or a situation where people with shallow wells are having a problem.
About [...]
Government in the Sunshine - O’Malley Style
We find that Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley and Salisbury Council President Louise Smith have a few things in common: their apparent love for tax increases, their total lack of fiscal responsibility, and no compunction about telling voters one thing while running for office and flipping 180 degrees upon election.
O’Malley promised the voters a lot [...]
Media Monday - 2007072302
Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley is truly a darling of the MSM. The “Tilghman Times” is no exception. On Sunday, the T2 ran an AP piece about “O’Malley Watch“. While I’m glad to see the blog get publicity (it’s definitely a “must read”), I wish the AP, and the papers that print the [...]
Media Monday - 2007072301
In typical “Tilghman Times” fashion, Sunday’s editorial attacking Wicomico County Executive Rick Pollitt over the “performance raise fiasco” was long on inference, short on fact and displays the courage typical of Greg Bassett and company. The “minor scandal with major implications” was neither, but Bassett and co. have to criticize someone or the reading [...]
What Does Salisbury Have in Common With Charm City?
Sure, we know that they both have disproportionately high crime rates, but that’s not what I’m talking about. It seems that Salisbury Mayor Barrie Tilghman and her brain trust of City Administrator John Pick and DIS Director Pam Oland are forever looking for more and better ways of flushing the taxpayers’ money into the [...]
Bi-Partisan Justice
Former Maryland Sen. Thomas Bromwell has reached a plea agreement that allows him to plead guilty to charges of accepting payoffs in return for publicly funded contracts. Typically such agreements require that the guilty party assist in any ongoing investigation of other related public corruption.
Not in this case. Typical Democrat backscratching, right? [...]
Obama - Webb 2008?
Will freshman Sen. Jim Webb be on the national stage in 2008? “Shad Plank” speculates that if Jim Webb has any national aspirations then 2008 will have to be the year.

Maryland - The Low Tax State?
Hardly a bastion of conservative virtue and fiscal restraint, no less than the Baltimore Sun has provided a scathing analysis of the Democrat idea of raising Maryland’s income tax rates (making them more progressive in the lefty lexicon).
Drooling with the desire to hike rates, Martin O’Malley and his merry band of tax and spenders point [...]
Get Out Your Yard Signs
It appears that you can put out your yard signs for next February’s primary in Maryland. I know, we’ve all been told that you can’t put them out until 45 days before the election.
That was until U.S. District Court Judge Catherine Blake delivered her opinion that political speech is a tad more important than [...]
