Forgive me for being so bold here GA but it truly makes me wonder just how stupid the Taxpayers are in Salisbury. If they do not sign this petition they will get an instant 17% tax increase. Dee, Dee, Deeee!

I live in Delmar but own property in the City. Could the Mayor have pulled this increase just to drive us smarter ones out? How ill this effect the people on fixed income, while the Mayor gets a huge pay increase this year?

Oh well, if people DON’T find the time and or have the smarts to get out there and sign the petition, they’ll get exactly what they deserve. I’ll be here in Delmar laughing my A$$ off!

    Folks:

Please tell everyone you know in Salisbury about the times for signing the petition at the Civic Center. This is a real “grassroots” movement and the goal is for Salisbury residents to “take back the City”.

    Viva la blogs!

  3. Tim Chaney says:

The residents here seem to be quite slack. I think the only other petition drive I will participate in will be to abolish Salisbury’s municipality and bring it all home under one roof, let the county take it over, they seem to work together pretty good. Won’t have to hear about the duplicated service BS any longer either.

Privatize the zoo and the civic center both. Not only will they make money and pay taxes they will draw even more people to visit Salisbury for a day or two.

One petition to get rid of the Mayor, Pick, Shannie, Gary and Lousie in one fatal swoop. Debbie and Terry for county council~!

So many police wives I have heard talk, make note that they won’t live in the city because of the crime, to me, that’s like confessing their husbands do a crappy job to start with and now I wonder if they deserve a raise at all. Bring crime down and earn the raise~!

If this city isn’t good enough for them, they should just move on and find a better job suited for them elsewhere. AMF’s

Send Barrie a clear message–we’ve had it with your dictatorship and funding your empire on the backs of the taxpayers. Find a petition and sign it ASAP.

Barrie is a joke and Louise Smith is her pawn.

  5. Tim Chaney says:

Bubba is the idiot court jester, except he’s not funny at all. Off with his head~!!

  6. kate manizade says:

Of the doors I’ve knocked on, only one belonged to someone who didn’t want to sign: because he “hated petitions”. I guess he likes higher taxes, and that is that: no argument is possible with someone who is happy to cut of his nose to spite his face.

Everyone else is busy trying to make a living and raise children, while the Mayor is up all night trying to figure out how to take the food off their table and the clothes off their children’s backs. Everyone else I could find has signed the petition, and furthermore, they think the Mayor needs a ride out of town, and Comegys, Shields and Smith along with her. If nothing else, this signature drive has made citizens aware of their exploitation at the hands of bigots, race-baiters, developers, landlords, idiots, and cowards. Get ready to catch up your housework Madam Mayor: come 2009 you’ll have plenty of time to rearrange your shoe closet.

  7. First Timer says:

    Kate:

Barrie is going out of town next week — all the way to Wilmington to try to get Bill Reddish fired.

Don’t know if Louise is riding shotgun.

  8. Iyeska says:

That woman is relentless. Does she think being the mayor of Salisbury is going to carry any weight in Wilmington? So she’ll take a 4 hour trip to be told the same thing they have already told her via phone. Barrie hasn’t figured it out yet but not everything is going to go her way.

  9. kate manizade says:

I hear she can be pretty ugly when she’s crossed. Maybe it WILL frighten Wilmington. Maybe she can make her head spin around 180 degrees, and spit pea soup. It seems to have worked on WaWa.

  10. Tim Chaney says:

The inner child is a lush and slams Jack Daniels like a timberjack.
