Where Are The Customers’ Yachts?
Alan Lechner related that “In the good old days…the Wall Street rich summered at the seashore… Getting to the office was made somewhat less arduous by walking down the lawn to one’s private motor yacht and cruising to the foot of Wall Street….The story goes that one day a gentleman and his stockbroker walked down [...]

Catch it live on PAC-14 or shuffle on down to the GOB. You know how the Queen loves to see her [...]

O’Malley’s Off To A Great Start!
Much has been made in the past couple of days about Gov. Martin O’Malley’s breaking campaign pledges before he even gets a chance to warm up that big leather chair in the governor’s office. He promised to fund everything under the sun and finally had to admit that he won’t be able to.

Civil Service vs. Politics
Kudos to Bob Caldwell for his excellent, and funny, letter to the editor in Friday’s “Tilghman Times“. Perhaps Salisbury City Administrator John Pick will figure out that getting involved in politics is best left to people who run for office or help on their campaigns.

One Citizen Speaks Out
Thanks to Tim Chaney for a thoughtful and well written letter in Friday’s “Tilghman Times“. While I don’t totally agree with Tim’s views on the proposed waste water solution for the “Reagan’s Run” subdivision, we desperately need more citizen interest and involvement as exhibited by Tim’s concern for his neighbors down Riverside Drive.

Be Careful What You Read
Maryland Politics Today has a post about Salisbury resident John Harris throwing his had into the city council ring. Two hints Ken - don’t use the “Tilghman Times” as a primary source and if you insist on using, read them carefully.

And the Graft Just Keeps on Coming
Gov. Martin O’Malley and Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown have managed to take in $1.7 million dollars since their election in November. Do ya think all of that money is just because of their good looks and charm?

Just $6… or Nothing
Earlier this week I posted about one of the exemptions in the “lobbying reform” proposed by the new Dem majority in the US Senate. I just moderated a comment from Terrance at Just6Dollars.org. I was curious and checked out their site. These guys endorse full public funding of federal elections. According [...]
Is Salisbury Paying for Your Vacation?
Salisbury City Attorney Paul Wilber won’t be at Monday’s city council meeting. Why? Mr. Wilber is seeing the sights in ANTARCTICA. Who’s paying for Mr. Wilber’s little trip to the land of penguins and the ozone hole? You are, if you pay taxes in the city of Salisbury.

One Citizen Can Make A Difference
If you are one of those folks who believe that one person can’t make a difference in their community, look at this post from the Salisbury News. When taggers went on a relative rampage in the city of Salisbury Joe Albero was the only person bringing this problem to people’s attention. Without the [...]
Worth A Look

Megatrends
In the early 1980’s John Naisbitt wrote a book which became a runaway best-seller. Megatrends was his prediction about some of the larger, or mega, trends he felt would impact and influence our lives going forward. He highlighted ten of these Megatrends in the book. A current review of his book would [...]
Doesn’t Pass The Smell Test, Either
The recent revelation that OC police cut Delaware Delegate John Atkins, of Millsboro, a major break by overlooking a DUI offense at Halloween time has possibly caused some major embarrassment in OC. As pressure mounted for an explanation, the OC spin machine started to hum, culminating with a police briefing with the local MADD [...]
