Be Careful What You Ask For

Trial lawyers will always tell you that you should never ask a question that you don’t know the answer to. It’s important for honest brokers, such as Salisbury Councilwoman Debbie Campbell, to be open and ask appropriate questions. When you have already made up your mind and have no desire to learn anything, a la Mike Dunn, it is best to heed the barrister’s advice.

While traveling on Wednesday I received a phone call from a friend asking what I thought about Wednesday morning’s “Tilghman Times” article regarding Salisbury councilwoman Debbie Campbell. As I was almost to Wilmington before my delivery person usually gets around to delivering our paper I had this friend read the article to me.

I wanted to apologize to our readers for the slowness in moderating comments Wednesday. I was in New Jersey on business until late. I will be out of town Thursday as well.
Please, never hesitate to leave your comments. If I am out of town, I will have them posted as soon as I have access to the internet. If the site is up, your comments should have been received and are waiting for moderation. We don’t edit your comments, but we have to guard against someone leaving a too frank opinion of Mayor Tilghman or Mike Dunn.

At Monday night’s Salisbury City Council meeting we were treated to more of the same (perhaps worse). I thought that I had attended just about every type of government meeting and / or function possible in the United States. I have even witnessed the Taiwanese parliament engage in a riot amongst themselves (via TV of course). One thing that I had never witnessed, until I began attending Salisbury council meetings, was the routine attack on citizens and a general rudeness by their “elected representativesâ€.

Back at my first city council meeting in months I found out
that I had missed nothing. The “Dream Nightmare Team†was busy giving away taxpayer dollars like they were beers at a
fraternity party. Mike Dunn had a citizen forcibly removed for “threatening†him. Lynn Cathcart had a major hissy.
The Queen of Barrieland presented a veiled threat to all those who dare to speak in opposition. Basically business a I remember it, except that it was usually Mikey throwing the hissy
fit.
Thanks

Debbie Campbell seems to be the only person on the Salisbury City Council capable of rational thought, or discourse. Gary Comegys made a pretty good stab at it Monday night until Mrs. Campbell pointed out that the emperor had no clothes (more on that later in the week). We should be grateful for the true leader on city council.
Thanks to Joe Albero (and Mr. Duvall) for posting her complete written statement. You can read it here.

A Different Kind of Dunn Deal
When I saw this I couldn’t help but laugh. There is almost as much doubt in Cal Ripken not making Cooperstown on the first ballot as there is of the “Dream Nightmare Team” actually serving the taxpayers of Salisbury.

Crabbin has a scary (but interesting) post about a proposed union of Canada, the US and Mexico. Similar to the EU. The whole idea makes me want to move to Australia.
