How Do You Spell Conflict - JAKUBIAK
Mike Dunn and his cohorts on Salisbury City Council have awarded a contract to Jakubiak & Associates to negotiate an annexation agreement between the city and Vernon Esham / Faith Baptist Church for the church’s property on Dagsboro Road. Forget for a moment that Mr. Jakubiak is a client of Mr. Dunn’s. Forget for a moment that the city pays city attorney Paul Wilber a pile of cash each year to handle such things. Forget for a moment that Mr. Wilber will wind up getting his cut out of this transaction anyway.
Who is paying Mr. Jakubiak to represent the city on this matter? Vernon Esham. That’s right, Mr. Jakubiak is being paid by the same person he is supposed to be extracting concessions from. If this doesn’t define “conflict of interest”, what does? I wonder which one of the geniuses on the Rubber Stamp came up with this idea?

I want my tax money back. In fact, I want Mr. Esham to pay me to represent the City on this. He can send it to P.O. Box D-O-G, Salisbury, MD 21803. I’ll beat Jakubiak’s price by a country mile.
Does this beat Fruitland’s “Rotary reimburses town for Fruitland attorney’s service concerning annexation” per that letter to the editor? That was another pipestem deal, wasn’t it? Sounds like Ricky Pollitt really is Barrie Tilghman’s “dog in this race.” (This dog shudders when hearing that.)
These folks all need a good flea ‘n’ tick dip, if’n ya ask me.
