Did you or any member of your family hold any financial interest in Sassafras Meadows, LLC or Marquis, LLC? Did you or any member of your family derive any benefit from the sale of properties by Sassafrass Meadows, LLC or Marquis, LLC to Thomas H. Ruark, Inc.?

You’ve had your answer and it’s NO. Why don’t you simply print that and apologize to Mike. Instead you continue your rather pathetic attempt to malign the reputation of one of the best individuals to serve on the Salibury City Council in recent memory. Get over it and move on with the rest of your agenda because no one’s buying your slander. Meanwhile Salisbury continues to prosper under Dunn’s leadership and everyone knows it but you and your little gang.

Let’s break this up into little pieces so that you can understand it. FYI, Cato received a note from Mr. Dunn today where he categorically denies any involvement on the part of any member of his family in either Sassafras or Marquis as well as the sale to Ruark. There will be a post later about that.

As for your assertion that Mike had answered the question prior to today — provide some evidence. Nowhere in either the Daily Times article or his letter to the editor does he deny involvement on the part of his family. He did deny personal involvement and we have posted that he should be taken at his word.

People like you provide no end of amusement. You claim that you want civil discourse yet you scream terms like “slander” and “character assasination” whenever someone disagrees with you.

In one definition of “slander” - to malign - I probably have slandered Mike in the past. Am I sorry? Somewhat. That is one of the reasons that I have stopped writing most of our pieces about Salisbury / Wicomico County.

Point to one piece written in the past three months that slanders Mike or anyone else. I’m not talking about attacking specific votes on council or policy decisions on the part of Mike, Barrie, or anyone else.

I’m willing to bet that you can’t find one. If you can, I’ll apologize. If you claim that attacking a policy position is slander then I guess you’ll be the one who is ridiculed next. Good hunting Howdy!

I’ve never commented before, but Mr. Howdy Doody caught my attention. While I enjoy reading this blog one of the things that I’ve found a little boring is that you guys seem to go out of your way to get your facts straight before you write something about the Salisbury Council or the County Council.

Personally, I thought some of your writing about following the rules was pretty boring except that you proved your case. I’ve also read Mike Dunn’s letter in the paper and you are right about that too.

I think Mr. Doody needs to bone up on his reading skills or keep his obviously incorrect opinions to himself.
