Thanks All Around, Especially to Linda

The ongoing saga known as Dunngate wouldn’t be to fore of the public’s attention if it wasn’t for some hard working people. Thanks to Mr. Duvall and Hadley for their efforts in putting this spectacle in some order and perspective.

The person we probably need to thank most doesn’t even want her name mentioned. This special lady has worked tirelessly to help make Salisbury and the county a better place for us all to live in. Along the way she uncovers little facts like the pre-annexation agreement with our esteemed city council president’s signature on it.

Of course we all know that this special person is Linda Kent. She really deserves our thanks; not just for uncovering this fiasco, but for organizing people to take their city and county back from a relatively small group that wants to control our community.

Since Linda didn’t have anything else to do between working, taking care of her family and trying to keep the old mall from becoming a city of its own she prepared this for the rest of us – a detailed chronology of the whole Sassafras Meadows brouhaha.

This is suitable for printing and taking with you to the next city council meeting or work session. If Mike Dunn accosts you on the street and tells you that you don’t understand the facts, you can show him the facts, and nothing but the facts.

Thanks again Linda. We’re indebted to you.

Many thanks to Linda for her efforts. Had it not been for the “Old Mall” situation and Lindas digging, we would probably not know about some of the other questionable antics of Dunn&Co.And thanks to the blogs and WICO for getting Lindas message out to the public.

I’m adding these comments from Duvafiles in the hope that Ms. Kent will be able to get the info:
    =================================

Rumor (only that at this point) has it that the whole shenanigan on annexation and running of sewer & water lines was crafted by a certain influence peddler/”fixer” type with connections going back to the former mayor that have continued under Tilghman.

Any thoughts on who’s the Jack Abramhoff of Salisbury?

Also, how come the County is allowing building permits at Sassafras Meadows if it’s supposed to be in the City — and does the development meet the County zoning, etc? Is anyone on the County Council involved in this mess?

  4. River Rat says:

We can’t let this mess quietly go away! This is what is wrong with this place. It is as plain as the nose on your face…City doesn’t charge Ruark over $1 million (capacity & impact fees)and I will bet you that the price of the land was inflated over $1 million!

Is that padding a government officials pocket? Unethical, absolutely…Illegal? I would bet the farm! The time line alone is so clear!

Great job Linda, you are one smart lady. Good job on the radio yesterday. The way you laid it all out made it so clear to me. Thank you!

    NEWS FLASH

In his interview with Bill Reddish this A.M., Ron Alessi (candidate for County Exec.) said that he did not think the proposed plan for the old Salisbury Mall was a good one.

Wonder what Ricky Pollitt would say about that plan?

    Linda, you’re the tops!
