If you want Canadian style healthcare, that’s great. Go visit Canada and see why private healthcare is on the rise there. While Michael Steele should definitely make an issue out of this, we can’t lay all the blame at the feet of the Democrats. President Bush’s prescription drug plan for Medicare has almost guaranteed that we’ll have to go single payer in the future. The government will never have the political will to withdraw the benefit and this will be the only way to keep Medicare afloat.
