Unfortunately for the cambridge area very few people appear to understand the environmental benefits that a golf course can offer. Farmland run off contains high levels of pesticides and fertilisers that are dumped into tributaries and water ways. Golf course’s on the other hand offer the environment a natural way to filter water before it reaches water ways.

Unfortunately, very few people appear to understand that the golf course requires hefty amounts of fertilizer and pesticides to keep that healthy green look demanded by needy golfers. Much, not all, will still leach into the Little Blackwater. How much is too much? In addition, we’re not talking just about a golf course (and it’s attendant parking lot), we’re talking about large parking lots for the residential areas and conference center, and ALL of the antifreeze, wiper fluid and oil will run off directly into the Little Blackwater. Again, how much is too much? There are better places to put this monstrosity - just look to the west of Cambridge.
