Baltimore Mayor, and Democrat gubernatorial candidate, Martin O’Malley spoke out against the proposed Blackwater Resorts development on a mid-shore campaign swing this weekend.

O’Malley claims cuts in state aid to local jurisdictions is spurring new development. He says local governments see growth as a way to make up for a loss of state funding.

Evidently more taxes and additional state spending will help to prevent wanton development on the Eastern Shore. – WBOC-TV

    Huh? Since Baltimore is losing population what does O’Malley know about growth anyway?

    That statement defies logic.
