Whine, Teddy, Whine

Teddy Kennedy has really gone over the bend with the Alito nomination. During his little filibuster attempt Teddy had a little hissy fit in the well of the Senate. He wanted to know why the Senate couldn’t debate the nomination more.

Where were you on Saturday and Sunday Teddy? If you wanted to debate the nomination further then you had the opportunity. For some unknown reason, Majority Leader Bill Frist was conned into holding off a cloture vote until Monday afternoon.

Of course we know that the desire to debate had nothing to do with it. The Federal Courts are the last Liberal / Democrat stronghold in government. Teddy doesn’t want debate, he wants obstruction. The height of left wing hypocrisy is evident in this quote from Kennedy during the Clinton administration:

The president and the Senate do not always agree [on judicial nominations]. But we should resolve these disagreements by voting “yes” or “no.” - NewsMax.com

While the Republican controlled Judiciary Committee was guilty of obstructionism during the Clinton Administration by refusing to hold hearings, two wrongs don’t make a rightl. Perhaps the Republicans have learned their lesson. The left wing of Senate Dems surely have not.
